The Western Hills High School Choral Department is a growing group
of young men and women who come together to share their
love of singing. The choral program consists of four ensembles:
Men's Chorus, Women's Chorale, Advanced Chorale, and Chamber
Choir. Approximately 75 students are involved in the Western
Hills choral program.
The Advanced Chorale is the top performing ensemble at
Western Hills and has performed for the governor of Kentucky
and achieved much success at district choral contest obtaining
distinguished ratings. The Western Hills Choral Department
also offers an extracurricular chamber choir that won 3rd
place at the University of Louisville Chamber Choir Competition
in 2005 and 2008. This group continues to perform achieving
distinguished ratings.
The Western Hills choral ensembles are directed by Mrs.
Tiffany Marsh. She is in her
fifth year teaching at Western Hills High School where she
also teaches Arts and Humanities. Mrs. Marsh is a graduate
of the University of Louisville, School of Music, Louisville,
Kentucky receiving both her undergraduate degree in Music
Education and her Master in Music Performance, specializing
in choral conducting.
Western
Hills High School is one of two high schools in Franklin
County, Kentucky and was founded in 1980. It has a student body of
around 730 that serves the western part of Frankfort, the capital of
Kentucky. Western Hills High School is a traditional school providing
the students a well-rounded curriculum. Our principal is Mr. Dennis
Hancock.
